Let’s Wander

I reckon it passed some time since i made my last post in english, somehow i miss this kind of story telling. I’ve just finished reading one of the fiction from the wonderful Fragile Things , it is called A Study in Emerald … but i shall not talk about it now because i don’t want to talk about every short stories particularily … once i have the book finished then i’ll make a ,i acquire,quite large post presenting every each one of them.
I still can’t believe tomorrow’s the last day of school…this is bloody unbelieveable ! I mean the time seemed to past so hard that at a point I thought this holiday will never come. Ow…it began to rain…
I fear to make plans for the summer because I know I’d not respect them and i would be in a manner of speaking,deceived. So this summer i’ll just let it go , though, i have some whishes that might or let’s say must become true. I’m the kind of person that is called spontaneous , alas, i’ve never wanted to be different. If someone asks me if I can go somewhere with him in 30 mins i say yes withouth the palest shadow of reluctance in my acceptance. It’s just happening. They say the most beautiful trips are the spontaneous ones…like you wake up in the morning and a thought just strikes your mind…to get on the next train and travel aimlessly , i agree with the ones that stand for this kind of adventure, i plan something alike this summer. Maybe you lived this feeling or look forward to it…then you know what it means

Nu stiu cum sa incep

Recent nu am mai avut inspiratie pentru posturi, asta pentru ca deobicei posturile sunt bazate pe fapte vazute,auzite sau citite, un fel de cronica subiectiva asupra lor. Din moment ce eu citesc destul de mult pot sa zic , indeosebi lucruri tangentiale cu science fictionul si fantasyul sa nu pot sa “aberez” si eu putin pe o tema. S-a mai intamplat pe la inceput postul despre prima zapada, in care pot sa ma simt bine ca am aberat binisor insa cam ala a fost singurul, restul, povestiri, recenzii si critici.

Recent am citit Nopti albe Zile negre de compatriotul Marian Coman, carte a carei recenzii e cu un post mai jos. In continuare sunt pe sfarsite cu Masinuta lui Hrabal , care este destul de emotionanta ( desi nu este cuvantul potrivit, cartea implica multe sentimente traite de autor vis-a-vis de pisici ) , probabil pe seara sau cel tarziu maine o sa vina si recenzia la cartea astea, nu stiu de ce mai anunt, nu prea primesc feedback.

De maine intr-o saptamana imi vine comanda amazoniana , pe care o astept de mai bine de o luna deja. Dar merita. Stiu de pe acum ca merita sa fi asteptat chiar si doua, poate trei luni, dar sa nu cobesc.

Cheful de scoala ( daca a existat vreodata ) a pierit, mintea mea e ancorata in bookfest si in perioada post 15 iunie. Vara asta o sa fie una wasted, i promise !

Updated news :
-i just got a sms from puck in which she’s telling me she mailed me Zatul (pentru bookaholics) + a must read sf which in own it twice …. and she keeps the suspense for herself,uuu…i wonder what it might be….the pack arrives wednesday so by the end of the month i’ll have time to read the book for the club and i’ll see about the other one.
-being a quite big tea drinker ( i preffer black or flavoured black ones ) i keep an eye for the newest teas that might turn on once in a while so today i saw a new Lipton Ice Tea ( off the record i’ve seen it a week ago though today i had the chance to taste it ) and that is Red Ice Tea. I bought a bottle just to see about it’s taste. It tastes nice, the flavour reminds me of something i know still i don’t figure out what but all in all it’s good. Once i hated myself for buying an Ice Tea Green made by Nestea though the Lipton’s one tastes real good. Ice Tea Green Nestea is pure shit. Don’t buy it!
-The New Milka with liquid Caramel that i’ve read about at nwradu tastes good, the caramel is nice , reminds me of the one they put in the Aloma ice creams which is a bit of heaven
-These days at school seem to past so quick….just what i’ve wished for!

What?

Dupa ce am ridicat catorva persoane nivelul de invidie fata de mine ( mai mult sau mai putin serios ) cu poza de mai jos cu toate cartile alea frumoase de Neil Gaiman , am revenit la normal.
Nu mai am mult pana sa pun mana pe ele,asa ca timpul care din pacate se afla intre momentul asta si ala o sa-l fac sa treaca cat mai repede posibil.

Imi place la scoala in perioada asta, se pun note pe niste intrebari pe care oricine ar trebui sa le stie, nu te chinuieste cu iesitu la tabla,cu lucrari sau cu mai stiu eu ce. Asa am reusit sa iau o nota destul de buna la Germana pe un simplu cuvant imperfect . Atat. Mi-am asigurat media la Germana.

Soul Music e misto dar nu e de consumat in cantitati mari , adica cel putin pentru mine, daca citesc 50 de pagini deodata inseamna ca e bine, tocmai de aia nu sunt decat abia la 180 . Veniss Underground e pus deoparte pana cand termin Soul Music pentru ca asa mi-e mie felul cand vine vorba de citit carti care vin una dupa alta. Cred ca o sa pun pe Hold Veniss pentru ca mai am si alte carti imprumutate si vreau cat mai repede sa le citesc, “cat mai repede”-le acesta insemnand pana imi vine Gaiman, atunci cand o sa ma incui in casa cu pretioasele carti si o sa-mi cumpar ceva de genul carabina , o sa trag stolurile si o sa ridic factura la energia electrica.

Si ca sa se intelega din alt context cat de mult imi pasa mie de scoala : eu de-abia asta seara am aflat ca maine dam teza la Fizica. Tremur. Now this is what i call interest. Not.

cand imi e lene de scris cursiv si coerent

• Coca Cola Zero nu suge asa de rau cum mi-am inchipuit din comentariile auzite pana acum.E acceptabil, dar seamana cu Pepsi Max
• Plaza suge total,am fost acolo cand mi-am luat Converse auzind ca acolo e cea mai mare galerie a celor de la Famous Brands, de unde ! Converse are 4 rafturi , o bataie de joc ! + ca are foarte putine modele si majoritatea sunt low-cut
• Plaza mai suge o data pentru ca e un cacat imens prin care te ratacesti usor si la care mie imi ia foarte mult timp sa ajung.Deci Plaza sucks.
• Pentru ca marti e 1 Mai nu facem scoala. Si din acelasi motiv nu facem nici luni. Yay ! School-free time rocks!
• Rata prostiei in Romania e mare. Nu credeam ca mai exista in Bucuresti cel putin cineva care a terminat sau care e in cursul terminarii unei scoli/liceu si care teoretic stie sa lege doua cuvinte in frumoasa limba.Intamplarea este ca tocmai am alfat ca la Variety Bucket ( bachet, ca pronuntie) se zice Bucket ( buchet…ca pronuntie)…. mi-a sarit tandara…cum sa ceri 2 Variety Buchet ? (luat ca atare)
• Starbucks un rahat mic si scump, am intrebat in Plaza 3 gardieni unde e Starbucks si fiecare mi-a zis in alt loc. Normal ca nu era in nici un loc indicat de cei 3. ( “Stiti cumva Starbucks unde e ? / “Pai e pe undeva pe la etajul asta ( 3 ) dar nu stiu sigur…mai cauta si tu” / “ok”….normal ca era la parter si nu la etajul 3…idiotii

Ce ma mai complac asa cum sunt acum , nu invat la absolut nimic ( engleza se pune ca citesc carti in mirifica limba ) si scap nesifonat din orice situatie, ma rog, mai se iveste ici colo cate o promisiune genul data viitoare daca nu stii x iei 2 dar normal ca nu se adevereste la mine chiar daca data viitoare nu stiu tot scap, tot cu o promisiune la pachet.si cand e sa ma asculte,nu s-a intamplat pana acum insa este inevitabil,raspund din amintiri si din cultura generala si tot ginesc ceva din ce trebuia pe bune sa spun,oricum numai scoala nu se face. i so pwn !

dupa ce am terminat codul cavalerilor m-am apucat desigur de volumul 3 din Death ( Discworld) si anume Soul Music , so far ( ~50 pg ) e destul de detasat, o intriga minutios construita si desigur intrebarea My grandfather is Death ? si raspunsul la intrebarea retorica Aww,so that’s why i can turn invisible ! . Frumos. Discworld e prea comic yet prea fantasy ca sa nu prinda la mine cel putin.

Sper pana la sfarsitul lui mai cand o sa-mi vina comanda de pe amazon sa termin TOATE cartile imprumutate *numara cartile* si anume 6 si sa le returnez pentru a primi altele nu ? Oricum,dupa ce citesc ciclul Death vreau sa ma apuc de ciclul City Watch . Jen is teh kind provider here. So many thanks !

Dupa ce platesc comanda sper,SPER sa-mi mai ramana ceva maruntis si pentru BookFest,dar oricum fie ca o sa am fie ca nu tot o sa ma duc pe acolo sa mai dau un salut ce mai faci ? si o privire de jur imprejur.

Not again!

But it was inevitabily wasn’t it ?
I’m talking here about school, and the bitch started just two days ago, bastard…
Let me put this to you as a curiosity more than a problem : my classes start at 8 ( ussualy) , during schooltime ( when’s no holiday i mean ) i wake up very hard and often my alarm clock starts making noise at about 6 just to wake me at 7 and get me at school at 8. I know i’m not the only person with hard mornings, there’re plenty of us out there so raise you fist and…..sorry i got to revolutionary though morning should be banned from a pupils schedule. now the curiosity/problem….in the little tiny holiday that had just passed, a normal morning hater child like me would sleep as a pig till 11-12 in the mornings, NOT as i did ( i have to remind you that it was naturally) , waking up at 7:30 every , but EVERY morning in the holiday, and i couldn’t do nothing,the bastard school mess with my biological clock…
So now i think i might take a day off from school but we got Chemistry today and the teacher is a…..ununderstandable “thing”, not a good “thing” do mess with.

On the other part,on the happy one, i’m ordering (with a little help received from a friend from germany) some books from amazon uk, books that i’ve wanted for a long time now. and they’re supposed to reach my hands sometime at the end of may, not much time….i’m trying to be patient but it seems it doesn’t work too good…

Oh well…

At last !!!

At last, the school’s over , yeah,even if it is just for a week ( well…10 days)..but it’s over ! Yay ! *breezly atittude*, no wait, 11 days cos tomorrow we’re not goin’….actually i’m goin’ cos i’ll probably bore myself at home and a hour or two with the friends is always welcome.

so i started to read Amber’s first volume, Nine Princes of Amber and by now i proceeded just til the 80th page but there’s the holiday to come so i’ll probably finish it quickly cos i want to finish also the second volume, Guns of Avalon. By now it’s pretty interesting, still i have to blindly proceed without knowing a certain thing about the shadows but someone told me this fact will be explained further on . Good to know.

Also today i went to the postal office to fetch my Liturghia Neagra by J.K.Huysmans. It was supposed to come this days, i thought better of tomorrow but neither tomorrow nor today wouldn’t be bad scheduled.

Found a solution, when my folks keep bugging be about that always too loud music i plug my headphones in. Just like now. I wanted to lost myself through loud music and they were like keep the volume down , so i said ok,let’s see who has the last word now ! But above this “cool” facts there are or is a bad one….i don’t hear any other sound except the music so i probably won’t hear a thing if my folks ask me do to something, errr….

Chestii recente:

• am primit mailu de confirmare de la Polirom si in 6 zile (asta cu 2 zile in urma) adica luni cel mai probabil o sa-mi primesc Liturghia Neagra , intre timp tin cu sfintenie 14 roni intr-o carte pe care sper sa nu o uit ( Dean Koontz-Fear Nothing , na ca am scris-o aici,acum nu o mai uit) .
• Nu am mai vazut de mult un film ( si da, de mult poate insemna si 3-4 zile ) dragut la care sa rad sau care pur si simplu sa imi placa (indiferent de gen) insa sper maine sa primesc datoria promisa si sa pot sa ma duc si eu la 300. Nu am mai fost de ceva timp la cinema….hmm…ultima data am vazut Pantera Roz sau ceva de genu asta la Mall Vitan, inconjurat fiind de 3 beri si 2 ambalaje de ciocolata. Am developat un sistem iscusit prin care poti sa introduci chestii din afara inauntru in Multiplex. Berea la multiplex e obraznic de scumpa, si Gima e aproape….asa ca se recurge la un ghiozdan si multa detasare afisata nesimtit pe fata. Si sper sa vad 300 asadar… adica in lipsa de altceva cred ca e cel mai de interesat.
• Cica Amberu’ a aparut deja in librariile Humanitas ( nustiu unde’s alea ) si saptamana viitoare vor fi peste tot ! Vor deturna sistemul si vor instaura anarhia ! Salvati-va !
• Lolita e foarte draguta si foarte citibila desi dl. Nabokov ne insiruie cateodata niste cuvinte / expresii pe care trebuie sa le citesti de doua ori doar pentru a le plasa mai bine in context.
• Se zvoneste ca o sa scriu pentru revista scolii pe diferite teme….nu e nimic concret. sincer ? nici nu as vrea sa fie…dar noah…
• In ultimele 2 zile curentu a picat de cel putin 7 ori….ce se intampla?
• Gorillaz-Feel Good Inc. e o melodie destul de veche dar cu un potential destul de mare.

Going Techy

More or less

I decided i don’t use as much as others my cellphone, therefore i decided to sell it. With the money i hope i’ll get ( 240-250 Rons ) probably i’ll buy a “basic” cell , because that’s what all this mobile-telephones are about , talking and messaging right ? I don’t need a mobile with camera,mp3 or internet, no thanks. I just need a cell . So i still hope i’ll get a response.

I was talking today at school about randomly things, when it came to this. A plugin for Winamp to show you immediately the lyrics of the song you’re litsening. I though it was awesome cos i often add new mp3’s to the playlist and it’s kind of “over-handed” to open the browser and search for the lyrics. When i got home , one of the mates sent it to me and now i’m fully enjoying it. Work wonderfully!

I forgot to say that with the money that will remain after all this selling and buying bussines i’ll probably buy a mp3 player. It’s a must these days !

Today at school was plenty of fun. One of my mates done some pics for some sort of the school’s presentantion or something like this. And in the Chemistry class, where we have an awful teacher ( all the Chemistry teachers are alike ? awful i mean ) he said he should take some pics and the teacher let him. But instead of doing that job he started to film and at the end he filmed almost 10 minutes during the class. My mates were laughing like hell and the teacher was continuously saying ’stop laughing!’ but she had no clue what we were laughing at. She’s moldavian and after all this years lived in Bucharest she still has tiny bits of reminiscences from Moldavia and she talks like she was there, for our amusement.

Then i managed to angry the Maths teacher by not washing the table. I’m so proud ! If i feel beter i’m not that proud cos i normally would end my bussines for the class friday, now the date is rescheduled , it’s friday all right but now this one , the next one. Fuck!

Some people owe me some money but i haven’t got them yet….c’mon ! c’mon !
